The Places I’ve Been, The Stories
Throughout my life, I’ve had the opportunity to experience different places around the world — some through work, others through vacations, and some simply through the unexpected turns life takes.
I’ve visited countries that left me speechless, cities I still miss, and airports where I only spent a few hours but still walked away with a story. I’ve tried foods I never imagined tasting, listened to languages I didn’t understand, met people completely different from me, and learned that every culture has its own unique way of seeing life.
Some places I experienced deeply. Others I only briefly touched during a layover. But all of them, in one way or another, left something with me.
I have spent more than two decades living in New York after moving from Peru, with many journeys along the way. Over time, I realized I didn’t want to keep all of these stories hidden only in photographs or forgotten somewhere in my phone. I wanted to write them down.
This blog was born from that feeling.
From the places that shaped me.
From unexpected stories.
From people.
From food.
From quiet moments inside airports.
From losing a phone in Japan.
From unexpectedly running into a cousin during a layover in Panama.
Some trips were brief.
Others changed me a little forever.
And although there are stories I will keep to myself, and work details that will always remain private, there are still many things I want to share: the emotions, the experiences, the small moments, and the way each place taught me something different.
Over the years, these are some of the places I have been fortunate enough to experience:
The Americas & Caribbean
Peru, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Panama, United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Haiti, The Bahamas, and Turks and Caicos.
Europe
Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Greece.
Africa & the Middle East
Niger, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Israel, and Palestine.
Asia
Thailand and Japan.
Some places I knew deeply. Others were quick encounters, unexpected layovers, or small moments that still managed to leave a story behind.
And little by little, I want to share those stories too.
Because in the end, this blog is not only about travel.
It is about growth.
About discovering the world.
About discovering myself within it.
About understanding that every place, no matter how small or far away, can leave something inside us.
And maybe this is only the beginning of all the stories that each one of those places still holds with me.
